BPD Unions Provide Food for Those Mourning the Loss of Fallen Auburn Officer Tarantino

On Friday, May 27, 2016, dozens of Boston Police officers joined officers from around the country to lay fallen brother, Auburn Police Officer Ronald Tarantino, Jr., to rest. Both the Boston Police Detectives Benevolent Society and the Boston Police Patrolman’s Association sent their food trailers and twenty volunteers to the funeral staging area at the Southbridge Mass. Municipal Airport in order to provide breakfast, lunch, and plenty of water on a very hot day to the over 2,000 officers paying their respects to their fallen brother. The Providence Fire Department, Worcester Fire Department, and American Red Cross also set up tents to handle the large contingent. It became abundantly clear to all in attendance that, although we may wear different patches and serve different jurisdictions, first responders are truly part of one big family, and all were very appreciative of the collective efforts to provide nourishment throughout an extremely emotional and difficult day.
