BPD Traffic Advisory for Events to be Held on Sunday, June 12, 2016

Bunker Hill Day Parade – An estimated 1,500 participants will gather on Constitution Road, Chelsea Street, Hunter Street and Decatur Street at 12:30 PM and proceed along the following route: Vine Street, to Bunker Hill Street, left onto Main Street, right onto Union Street, left onto Washington Street, left onto Harvard Street, right onto Pleasant Street, right onto Warren Street, left onto Monument Avenue, left onto Monument Square, continuing onto High Street, right onto Green street, right onto Bartlett Street, to Monument Square, left onto Winthrop Street, left onto Common Street, right onto Park Street.  Drivers should expect that streets along the route will be closed to traffic through 5 PM.

The following temporary “Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect:

  • Vine Street, both sides, from Chelsea Street to Bunker Hill Street
  • Bunker Hill Street, both sides, from Vine Street to Main Street
  • Main Street, both sides, from Bunker Hill Street to Union Street
  • Union Street, both sides, from Main Street to Washington Street
  • Washington Street, both sides from Union Street to Harvard Street
  • Harvard Street, both sides, from Washington Street to Main Street
  • Pleasant Street, both sides, from Main Street to Warren Street
  • Warren Street, both sides, from Pleasant Street to Monument Avenue
  • Monument Avenue, both sides, from Warren Street to Monument Square
  • Monument Square, both sides, from Monument Avenue to Pleasant Street
  • High Street, both sides, from Pleasant Street to Elm Street
  • Green Street, both sides, from High Street to Bartlett Street
  • Bartlett Street, both sides, from Green Street to Monument Square
  • Monument Square, both sides, from Concord Street to Lexington Street, and, both sides, from Lexington Street to Winthrop Street
  • Winthrop Street, both sides, from #49-50 Monument Square to Common Street
  • Common Street, Training Field side, from Winthrop Street to Park Street
  • Hunter Street, both sides, from Bunker Hill Street to Vine Street
  • Decatur Street, both sides, from Vine Street to #50 Decatur Street
  • Moulton Street, both sides, from Bunker Hill Street to Vine Street
  • Bunker Hill Street, both sides, from Tufts Street to Lowney Way
  • Chelsea Street, both sides, from Fifth Street (gate #4) to Medford Street

Battle of Bunker Hill Road Race – An estimated 200 runners will gather on High Street at the Boys and Girls Club at 10:30 AM and proceed along the following route:  High Street, right onto Winthrop Street, right onto Warren Street, straight onto Main Street, right onto Bunker Hill Street, right onto Lowney Way, right onto Adams Street, left onto Common Street, left onto Park Street, right onto Warren Street, right onto Monument Avenue, right onto Monument Square, follow Monument Square counter clockwise around the monument and back to the intersection of Monument Square and High Street, right onto High Street, finishing at High Street and Wood Street.  Drivers should expect that streets will be closed to vehicular traffic as runners make their way to the end of the route.

Boston Pride Street Fair/Back Bay LGBT Block Party – St. James Avenue, Back Bay/South End, will be closed to traffic between Berkeley Street and Arlington Street from 6 AM to 11 PM.  In addition, the following temporary “Tow Zone No Stopping Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect:

  • St. James Avenue, both sides, between Berkeley Street and Arlington Street
  • Berkeley Street, both sides, from Stuart Street to Boylston Street

Boston Pride Street Fair/JP LGBT Block Party – Perkins Street, Jamaica Plain, will be closed to traffic between Centre Street and South Huntington Avenue, from 6 AM to 11 PM.  In addition, the following temporary “Tow Zone No Stopping Sunday” parking restrictions will be in effect in Jamaica Plain:

  • Perkins Street, both sides, from South Huntington Avenue to Centre Street.

Saint Cecilia Summer Fest – St. Cecilia Street, Back Bay, will be closed to traffic between Belvidere Street and Scotia Street from 8 AM t 6 PM.

Walk for Children’s Hospital – Will take place off-road along the Charles River starting at the Hatch Shell.  To accommodate event buses, “Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday 12:01 AM to 3 PM” temporary parking restrictions will be in effect as follows:

Beacon Street, opposite the Public Garden, from Brimmer Street to Beaver Street
Charles Street, Public Garden side, from the center gate of the Public Garden to Beacon Street

BPD Training Exercise at Fenway Park – “Tow Zone No Stopping Boston Police Special Event Sunday 6 AM to 3 PM” temporary parking restrictions will be in effect as follows:

  • Brookline Avenue, both sides, from Overland Street to Lansdowne Street
  • Boylston Street, south side, from opposite Lansdowne Street near Fenway Park to Brookline Avenue
  • Lansdowne Street, both sides, from Brookline Avenue to Ipswich Street
  • Ipswich Street, both sides, from Boylston Street near Fenway Park to opposite Lansdowne Streets, excluding HP-DV spaces.
  • Van Ness Street, both sides, from Ipswich Street to Kilmarnock Street, excluding construction zone
  • Yawkey Way, both sides, from Van Ness Street to Brookline Avenue
  • Richard B. Ross Way, both sides, from Van Ness Street to Boylston Street

St. Anthony Procession – Will begin at 2 PM on Hanover Street at the St. Leonard Church Peace Garden, proceed along numerous streets through the North End, and return to the Peace Garden at 6 PM.  Drivers should expect that streets throughout the North End will be closed to through traffic on Sunday afternoon.
