At about 6:35 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, officers assigned to the City Wide Drug Control Unit made an onsite firearm arrest as part of an active and ongoing investigation in the area of 904 Morton Street in District B-3 (Mattapan). The officers executed a search warrant which led to the recovery of a loaded Smith & Wesson Air Weight .38 caliber SPL&P revolver and a Derringer .22 caliber D-101 handgun as well as more than six hundred rounds of ammunition. As a result, officers placed Francisco Quiles, 47, of Mattapan, in custody without incident. The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2 counts) and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

So far this year, thanks to the continued efforts and dedication of our officers, 323 illegal firearms have been taken off of the streets of Boston and out of the communities we serve.
