*****Statement from Boston University President Robert A. Brown on hosting the graduation ceremony:*****

“At Boston University we are pleased to host the graduation ceremony for this year’s cohort of officers trained at the Boston Police Academy.  We know that training for service protecting the public is grueling and rigorous.  The rigor of training is commensurate with the responsibility and risk that police officers accept.  We commend this year’s graduates for their achievement culminating in their graduation and for choosing a career in serving and protecting the public.  At Boston University we value and depend on our close working relationships with Mayor Walsh, Commissioner Evans, and the officers who every day make Boston the safe and welcoming place that it is.  We thank you in advance for your efforts."
