BPD in the News: Globe Spotlights New Boston Police Academy Graduates

A big “thank you” to Trisha Thadani of the Boston Globe for attending and covering the Boston Police Academy Graduation Ceremony yesterday at Harry Agganis Arena at Boston University! Accompanying her article and gracing the front page of the Globe Metro Section were two moving photos—one of then-Sergeant William Ridge and his young son, Michael Ridge, wearing his father’s police hat while watching William’s brother, Stephen, being sworn in as a Boston police officer in 1994; and the second photo, taken yesterday, of now-Deputy Superintendent William Ridge and his 26-year-old son Michael following in his father and uncle’s footsteps and graduating from the police academy as well.
