Keeping Boston Safe: Significant Drug Bust Enables BPD Drug Control Officers to Seize Three Guns, Drugs and Money in Dorchester

In the BPD’s never-ending pursuit to protect and serve the citizens of Boston, a significant drug bust was made earlier today in Dorchester. On Tuesday, June 7, 2016, members of the BPD’s Citywide Drug Control Unit and SWAT Team executed two search warrants in the area of 30 Larchmont Street in Dorchester. As a result of the search, officers located and recovered three firearms (see photo), over a $1,000 in US Currency, over 100 grams of a Class B Drug (crack cocaine) and a pound of a Class D Drug (marijuana). Additionally, officers arrested three individuals on gun and drug related charges. Officers arrested Daquon Brown, 22, of Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Trafficking a Class B Drug (crack cocaine). Officers also arrested Kwame Browder, 21, of Boston and Kiya Mucmin, 35, of Boston charging both with the Unlawful Possession of Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Said Commissioner William Evans: “I can’t thank or commend my officers enough for the great work they do or the dangers they willing confront every day in their ongoing efforts to make our city one of the safest big cities in the country. Thanks to their efforts, our city’s a safer place because three gun-toting suspects find themselves behind bars.”
