At about 2:45 PM on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit were conducting surveillance in Canton, MA in relation to an outstanding warrant issued by Suffolk Superior Court for 25-year-old Fabian M. Gonzalez of Roxbury on charges for Assault to Murder, Aggravated Assault and Battery, and firearm related charges relative to the August 3, 2015 non-fatal shooting of three victims in the area of Academy Terrace, Roxbury.

Shortly after the above time, officers observed Gonzalez enter a vehicle as a passenger with two other individuals. Officers conducted a stop of the vehicle and arrested Gonzalez. Upon conducting an inquiry and pat frisk of the operator, 21-year-old Anthony Rivera of Boston, officers recovered a firearm (see photo courtesy of Canton PD) from his waistband. Officers contacted Canton Police, who responded and took Rivera into custody for firearm related charges. The third occupant of the vehicle was identified and released.
