Keeping Boston Safe: Keen Observation by BPD Officers Leads to the Recovery of a Loaded Firearm in Roxbury

At about 1:00 AM on Thursday July 14, 2016, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force recovered a loaded firearm in the area of 45 Mount Pleasant Street in Roxbury.  The officers were on directed patrol in the area in response to numerous recent complaints of gang and gun related violence when they recovered a loaded .380 caliber Kel Tec handgun which had been hidden atop the front tire of a parked motor vehicle. The firearm is currently being processed and investigated by the Boston Police Ballistics Unit.
