UPDATE: BPD Officers arrest suspect seen in dashcam video during shooting incident in Roxbury: Less than 48 hours after officers responded to a call for shots fired in the area of 25 Dale Street in Roxbury, one of the individuals seen in a dashcam video provided to police is behind bars. A short time ago, on Monday, August 1, 2016, officers located and arrested Devaughn Dardy, 21, of Boston and charged him with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.

At about 6:22pm, on Saturday, July 30, 2016, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for shots fired in the area of 25 Dale Street in Roxbury. On arrival, officers were unable to locate any victims. However, they did recover several shell casings.

Said Commissioner William Evans: “I want to commend my officers for the fine work that lead to today's quick arrest. I also want to thank the vehicle owner for her decision to share this video with our officers. Thanks to her help, we received several calls from concerned community members who helped us identify the suspect. And, as I said earlier in the day, if we had more people come forward like that every day, our job would be a lot easier and our ability to solve crimes that much better."
