WHO: Mayor Martin Walsh, Chief William Gross, Superintendent Lisa Holmes, Boston Police Academy instructors, this year’s graduates and their parents.

WHAT: The BPD’s Teen Police Academy graduates 48 students tonight, Thursday, August 11, 2016 on the front lawn of the Boston Police Academy in Hyde Park. The Teen Police Academy was created to strengthen and enhance the relationship between our city’s young people and the men and women sworn to protect them. Said one past graduate: “I didn’t realize how little I knew about police officers until I showed up at the Teen Police Academy and learned how much cops care about kids like me.” This year’s Teen Academy curriculum focused around the acronym PEACE. Each week the students learned about every letter in the acronym and the corresponding lesson attached to it which are as follows: P=Practice Patience, E=Everyone Is Important, A=Acts of Kindness, C=Community Caretakers, E=Everyday for the Rest of My Life.
