Boston Police Department Seeking Requests for Proposals for 2017 Shannon Grants

BPD Seeking RFP's for the 2017 Shannon CSI Grant Program: Funded by the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, the Shannon Community Safety Initiative Grant Program incorporates the key elements of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Comprehensive Gang Model. Grant funds support regional and multi-disciplinary approaches to combat gang and youth violence through coordinated prevention and intervention, law enforcement, prosecution, and reintegration programs.

On August 23, 2016, a bidders conference will be offered to provide an overview and an opportunity to ask questions. It will be held 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Boston Police Headquarters. The deadline for filing a letter of intent is August 31, 2016, with proposals due no later than September 16, 2016.

Preference will be given to applications that (1) propose programs that target geographical areas with demonstrated high levels of youth violence, gang problems, and substance abuse; (2) demonstrate a commitment to neighborhood based strategies; (3) outline a comprehensive plan to work with multidisciplinary partners; and (4) provide a written commitment to match grant funds with a 25% contribution from public or private sources if the organizations are programs of the city or quasi city based organizations.
