Making a Difference: Officers Volunteer at Week-Long Program for Special Needs Campers in New Hampshire

From Saturday, August 13, 2016 to Saturday, August 20, 2016, a group of BPD officers volunteered at Camp Fatima in New Hampshire as part of their Exceptional Citizens week.  The program is designed for children with intellectual and/or physical challenges.  Each camper receives one‐to‐one care and experiences a week of horseback riding, swimming, boating and many more special activities that they otherwise may not be able to enjoy.  Dedicated volunteers and generous donors make it possible for over one hundred campers to attend at no cost.

This year, Sergeant Hugh Solari, Detective Joe Martin (Retired), Lieutenant Gary Ryan, Officer Dennis Leahy, Officer Joe DeAngelo and Sergeant John G. Fitzgerald were proud to represent the department while giving their time, energy and attention to make sure each camper had a great time.
