One Less Gun: Officers Make Arrest and Recover Loaded Firearm After Quick Response to Incident in Dorchester

Earlier today, at about 10:42 AM on Wednesday August 3, 2016, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) made an arrest and later recovered a firearm after a call for a person with a gun in the area of Washington and Bowdoin Streets in Dorchester.  Officers were on routine patrol in the area as the call was being broadcast when they were flagged down by a female victim who stated that she had just been threatened with a firearm by a male suspect who was known to her.  Responding officers quickly located the suspect, Donovan Larmond, 33, of Dorchester, hiding behind a home on Harvard Street and placed him in custody without incident.  Officers then searched the area and recovered a loaded .40 caliber Hi-Point firearm which matched the description which had been provided by the victim.  The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
