INCIDENT #1: At about 2:30 PM on Monday September 19, 2016, officers assigned to the District B-3 (Mattapan) Drug Control Unit made an onsite firearm arrest after a traffic stop which was part of an active investigation in the area Morton Street and Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester. Officers were able to locate and recover a loaded .40 caliber Smith & Wesson FNP handgun from inside the vehicle with the assistance of Boston Police K-9 “Rocky.” As a result, the operator of the vehicle, Pablo Roman, 39, of Dorchester, was placed in custody without incident and will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
INCIDENT #2: At about 8:00 PM on Monday September 19, 2016, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force recovered two firearms, ammunition and drugs after making a warrant arrest and two additional arrests in the area of 83 Adams Street in Dorchester. The officers observed the target of their investigation, Walter Coleman, 19, of Dorchester, who was wanted on two outstanding warrants enter the rear of the address and lock the door behind him. The officers set a perimeter around the building and called for additional units. With the assistance of members of the Boston Police K-9 Unit and SWAT Team, officers were able to make entry and locate the suspect hiding on a second story porch in the rear of the building where he was placed in custody without incident. During the search, officers located two additional suspects, Deondre Blanding, 19, Roslindale, and Chris McKinney, 23, of Dorchester, hiding on a second story porch in the front of the building and placed them in custody without incident for trespassing. Officers were then granted permission to search the primary suspect’s apartment at which time they recovered a loaded 9mm Ruger Model 19 handgun, a loaded .25 caliber Raven Arms Model MP 25 handgun and eleven bags of crack cocaine packaged for sale. All three suspects will appear in Dorchester District Court. Deondre Blanding and Chris McKinney will be charged with Trespassing while Walter Coleman will be arraigned on his outstanding warrants for Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Destruction of Personal Property. Any firearm or drug related charges remain outstanding at this time pending the conclusion of the investigation.
