Keeping Boston Safe: BPD Officers Arrest One Suspect, Recover Silver-Colored Firearm and Drugs in Dorchester: In the BPD’s ongoing efforts to combat the distribution and sale of illegal narcotics in our neighborhoods, BPD officers arrested a suspect on gun and drug related charges earlier today in Dorchester. At about 1:00am, on Friday, September 23, 2016, officers assigned to the City Wide Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant in the area of 508 Park Street in Dorchester. Prior to entering the location, officers observed the target of the investigation attempting to leave the area. Officers moved in and stopped the suspect. A search of the suspect enabled officers to recover over $900 in US Currency and several small, plastic bags of marijuana (Class D Drug). A later search of the suspect’s residence enabled officers to see and recover a loaded silver-colored firearm with a blue handle (see photo), a digital scale and a plastic bag containing marijuana (Class D Drug). Officers arrested Branden Vaughn, 24, of Boston and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug (Marijuana).
