One Less Gun: Suspect Under Arrest After Traffic Stop Leads to the Recovery of a Loaded Firearm in Dorchester

At about 9:25 PM on Wednesday September 28, 2016, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite firearm arrest after making a traffic stop in the area of 20 Supple Road in Dorchester.  The officers stopped a car for an infraction and removed the operator, Jahmil Sheppard, 26, of Dorchester, who was known to them from a previous firearm related arrest after he began behaving in a suspicious manner.  Officers then performed a pat frisk of both the suspect and the vehicle which resulted in the recovery of a loaded Smith & Wesson .22 caliber revolver from inside the car.  The suspect was placed in custody without incident and will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
