RECOGNITION: Henry L. Shattuck Public Service Awards Honor Two of Boston’s Finest

Henry L. Shattuck Public Service Awards Honor Two of Boston’s Finest: Earlier this week, the Boston Municipal Research Bureau honored and recognized two of our department members for outstanding service and for going above-and-beyond the call of duty in their ongoing efforts to protect and serve the citizens of our fine city. Congratulations to Lt. Donna Gavin (see photo) of the Human Trafficking Unit for fighting for justice and caring for victims in need of a champion and Sgt. Detective Daniel Humphreys of the Auto Theft Unit for reducing auto theft in Boston by 19% in two years and for pushing for a solution to rampant and dangerous dirt bike riding on the streets of Boston. Donna and Dan are just two of the many reasons the city of Boston is one of the safest big cities in America. The Shattuck awards are named for Henry Lee Shattuck, a former city councilor, lawyer and businessman who founded the research bureau in 1932.
