Death Investigation in the Area of 220 Saratoga Street, East Boston

 

At about 6:00 AM on Sunday, January 1, 2017, officers from District A-7 (East Boston) responded to a call for a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 220 Saratoga Street.

Upon arrival, the officers observed a male victim had been struck by a motor vehicle. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers apprehended the operator of the vehicle, 33-year-old Christopher Nalchajian of Lynn, as he attempted to walk away from the scene. Nalchajian was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence, Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident causing Death/Personal Injury, and Vehicular Homicide.
