One Less Gun: Drug Investigation Leads to Arrest After Recovery of Loaded Firearm, Drugs and Cash During Traffic Stop in South Boston

At about 8:30 PM on Wednesday January 11, 2017, officers assigned to the District C-6 (South Boston) Drug Control Unit made an onsite firearm and drug related arrest after performing a traffic stop in the area of Southampton Street and Frontage Road in South Boston.  The officers had stopped the vehicle to speak with the passenger, Bryan Owens, 32, of South Boston, who was wanted in relation to an active and ongoing investigation.  When the officers removed the suspect to perform a pat frisk, they recovered a fully loaded black revolver as well as several bags of cocaine packaged for sale and one bag of heroin.  Officers later recovered $509.00 in U.S. Currency which was seized.  The suspect will appear in South Boston Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A and Class B Drugs.
