INCIDENT #1: At about 10:40 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2017, an officer from District B-2 (Roxbury) on-sited a fight between three males in the parking lot near 115 Warren Street adjacent to Roxbury District Court and the Boys and Girls Club.
The officer observed a male victim on the ground while two suspects kicked the victim about the head and chest. The officer quickly apprehended one of the suspects while the second suspect fled on foot and made good his escape. Further investigation revealed that the suspect and the victim were known to each other and had become involved in an altercation. Both the victim and the suspect denied that a third party was involved. The victim and suspect suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the altercation and were evaluated by EMS, but declined transport to a hospital. The suspect, 31-year-old Jason White of Roxbury, was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Shod Foot).
Approximately one hour later, officers received a second radio call for a found firearm in the same proximity as the above altercation. Officer responded to recover and secure the weapon, and both incidents remain under investigation.
INCIDENT #2: At about 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 14, 2017, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a group of males fighting in the area of Saint James Street and Trinity Place.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a loss prevention employee from Lord & Taylor, who reported a male suspect was stopped for shoplifting merchandise valued at about $400 from the store. Officers placed the suspect under arrest and transported him to the station to be booked. During the booking process, officers recovered a silver Smith & Wesson .38 Special revolver from the suspect’s backpack. The suspect, 25-year-old Tommy Germain Gedeus of Brookline, was charged with Shoplifting ($200 and Over), as well as Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
