Boston Police Family Justice Center Partners with Kennek Foundation & "Trouble the Dog" to Bring Comfort to Children in Need

Last week, on Thursday, October 5, 2017, Sheila Duncan, founder of the Kennek Foundation, visited BPD Headquarters with author Melanie Fleming and donated 50 books and 100 Trouble the Dog stuffed animals to the Boston Police Family Justice Center. Ms. Duncan and Ms. Fleming created the story of Trouble the Dog based on the loveable, squeezable plush puppy toys given to children in crisis or sickness in order to provide comfort to them in stressful situations. Accepting the generous donation on behalf of the BPD were Police Commissioner William Evans and Captain Hayes of the FJC. BPD officers working in the FJC will now be able to give the books and puppy dolls to children who are witnesses or victims of domestic violence, providing them with a little bit of comfort and security in their time of need.
