UPDATE: BPD Officers Arrest Two Suspects Wanted in Connection to Downtown Home Invasion

Today, Friday, November 17, 2017, after an extensive and thorough investigation by District A-1 (Downtown) detectives, members of the BPD Fugitive Apprehension Unit were able to locate and arrest two suspects involved in a violent home invasion that occurred on April 18, 2017 in the area of 185 Fulton Street. The suspects, 28-year-old Neil Tom and 25-year-old Julie Podier, both of Brockton, were the targets of an arrest warrant issued from Suffolk Superior Court merely two days prior for the armed home invasion in the North End during which one of the victims, who is in a wheelchair, was “pistol whipped” with a firearm.

Tom and Podier will be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court on charges of Armed Robbery, Home Invasion, and Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon.

Said Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, “I commend the work of my detectives who worked tirelessly over the course of several months to investigate every lead in this case. It is their skill, due-diligence, and dedication that allowed them to identify the suspects and acquire an arrest warrant. Their collaboration with the Fugitive Unit yielded a quick arrest and, in addition to making our city safer, I hope that these arrests provide a measure of comfort and calm to all those impacted by these violent and callous criminals."
