Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Quick Response Leads to Arrest After Residential Breaking and Entering in Dorchester

At about 4:38 PM on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for a breaking and entering in progress in the area of 15 Harwood Street in Dorchester. On arrival, an officer who arrived first on scene observed a person matching the given suspect description running from the rear of the address as he approached. The officer gave chase and placed the suspect in custody without further incident after a brief foot pursuit. During the booking process, officers recovered numerous pieces of jewelry which the suspect admitted did not belong to him. It was determined that the items had been taken during a separate breaking and entering earlier in the day in the same neighborhood. The property was later returned to its rightful owner. The suspect, Leon Williams, 32, of Dorchester, will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Breaking and Entering (2 Counts).
