Less than a week after a 56-year-old male was killed in a 2-car motor vehicle accident in Jamaica Plain, the individual operating the other vehicle has been charged with Homicide by Motor Vehicle while Operating Under the Influence.
At about 4:49 AM, on Friday, December 22, 2017, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a call for a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Columbus Ave and Heath Street in Jamaica Plain. On arrival, officers observed a motor vehicle accident involving two cars with multiple injuries. An occupant of one of the vehicles, 56-year-old Emanuel Cabral of Boston, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
After a thorough review of the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident, members of the BPD’s Homicide Fatal Collision Investigative Team were able to determine and establish that the operator of the vehicle that contributed to Mr. Cabral’s death was operating under the influence of alcohol. That individual, Joseph Kayode, 32, of Lynn has been charged with Homicide by Motor Vehicle while Operating Under the Influence. Kayode is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court tomorrow, Friday, December 29, 2017.
