INVESTIGATION UPDATE: Officers Recover Sawed-off Shotgun Used by Teenagers in Armed Robbery


Yesterday, Saturday, December 2, 2017, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) took a walk-in report for an armed robbery that occurred in the area of 22 Chipman Street. The victim reported that he had arranged on Facebook to meet a male to buy an iPhone, but instead the suspect and two additional males brandished a sawed-off shotgun and robbed him of his money. The investigation led detectives to a residence in the area of 66 Norfolk Street, where officers were able to locate and arrest the three suspects. The 13, 14, and 16-year-old juvenile males from Dorchester were charged with Delinquent to wit; Armed Robbery by Means of a Sawed-off Shotgun.

Additionally, officers froze the residence in the area of 66 Norfolk Street pending a search warrant. Upon execution of the warrant on Sunday, December 3, officers recovered the sawed-off shotgun used in the above crime. All three juveniles will be additionally charged with firearm-related offenses.
