At about 6:58 PM on Sunday, December 3, 2017, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Pain) responded to call for several teen-aged males breaking into an apartment in the area of 49 Horan Way in Jamaica Plain. Within seconds, officers who were on patrol in the immediate area promptly observed four teenage males walking away from the aforementioned location. When officers asked the kids to hold up in an effort to ask and better understand their connection to the incident, three of the individuals took off running. As a result, officers gave chase. While trailing behind one of the suspects, officers observed the individual reach into his waist area, pull out a silver-colored firearm, and toss it over a fence in the area of 89 Heath Street. After a brief physical altercation, the suspect was taken into custody. Meanwhile, a search of the area enabled officers to locate and retrieve the discarded firearm. Officers arrested a 17-year-old male from Boston and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Resisting Arrest.
