INCIDENT #1: At about 2:55 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) and the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Shalik Jordan, 26, of Dorchester on firearm related charges as part of an ongoing investigation in the area of Wheatland Avenue in Dorchester. Officers successfully executed a search warrant atthe address which led to the recovery of a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson Bodyguard handgun which was later revealed to have been reported stolen in Waltham. The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on multiple charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.

INCIDENT #2: At about 5:35 PM on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, members of the Citywide Drug Control Unit and the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite firearm arrest as part on an investigation inside the Savin Hill MBTA Station on South Sydney Street in Dorchester. The officers were aware that the suspect, Joseph Nieves, 22, of Dorchester, may be in possession of a firearm and approached to speak with him. The officers then performed a pat frisk which led to the recovery of a loaded .22 caliber Ruger handgun from inside a backpack that the suspect had been wearing. The suspect was placed in custody without incident and will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Carrying a Loaded Firearm.
