BPD Community Alert: The Boston Police Seek Public’s Help to Locate Suspect Wanted for Murder

The Boston Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted in connection to a homicide investigation in South Boston. Twenty-eight-year-old Marquis Martin is wanted by virtue of a felony warrant out of Dorchester District Court for Murder. The suspect is 5’7” tall and weighs 170 pounds. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

The original facts of the investigation are as follows:  At about 7:48 PM on Sunday, October 29, 2017, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 7 Peninsula Place, Dorchester. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim, suffering from life threatening injuries, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim was later identified as 30-year-old David Cole of South Boston.
