Media Availability/Photo Opportunity: Boston Police Officers Injured During East Boston Shooting Incident to Meet and Thank MGH Doctors Who Saved Their Lives  

WHO: Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, Boston Police Officers Richard Cintolo and Matt Morris, Dr. George C. Velmahos and Dr. David King.

WHAT: Four months ago, Boston Police Officers Richard Cintolo and Matt Morris were shot in the line of duty after confronting an armed gunman during a domestic disturbance in East Boston on October 13, 2016. In the immediate aftermath of the incident, Officers Cintolo and Morris were rushed to Mass General Hospital where physicians and care givers there are credited with providing the urgent care and treatment that ultimately saved their lives. On Friday, February 17, 2017, Richie and Matt return to Mass General Hospital for the first time together to thank the doctors who were there for them when they needed them the most.
