One Less Gun: Safety and Security Protocols Lead to Firearm Arrest at the Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Dorhcester

At about 8:30 AM on Thursday February 16, 2017, Boston School Police Officers assigned to the Jeremiah E. Burke High School located at 60 Washington Street in Dorchester arrested a student on firearm related charges.  The juvenile suspect, a 17 year old male from Dorchester, was placed in custody without incident after a school staff member located a 7.65 caliber Deutshche Werk handgun loaded with a single round of ammunition inside his backpack.  The suspect will appear in Dorchester Juvenile Court on charges of Delinquent to Wit:  Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
