Boston Police Department Salutes Black History Month!

Patrolman Henry R. Jenkins was originally appointed a reserve officer in 1885, however a year later in 1886 he was assigned to Division 14 in Brighton as a permanent patrolman for the Boston Police Department. Patrolman Jenkins was very active in community affairs, serving as the director of the Brighton Musical Association, head of his Odd Fellow Lodge, and representing the Brighton officers to the Police Relief Association. An on the job injury caused his early retirement in 1903.
