UPDATE: BPD Fugitive Unit Arrest Two in Connection to Death Investigation in the Area of 454 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain

A little more than five months after a fatal shooting in Jamaica Plain, members of the BPD Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested two additional suspects wanted in connection to the murder of Jeffrey Kelly. On Friday, February 3, 2017, members of the Boston Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit tracked the two suspects to two different locations and placed them under arrest. At about 3:20 PM, officers placed Julio Pizarro, 43, of Quincy, in custody in the area of 155 Northampton Street in Roxbury and placed Amanda Algarin, 26, of Revere, in custody at about 6:30 PM in the area of 525 Beach Street in Revere.  Both suspects will be charged with Murder in Suffolk Superior Court.

The original incident occurred at about 3:33 AM, on Saturday, August 27, 2016. At that time, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 454 Centre Street in Jamaica Plain. On arrival officers located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to an area hospital and later pronounced deceased.  The victim was later identified as Jeffrey Kelly, 28, of Boston.

Said Commissioner Evans, "I've always said that we never forget a victim or the loved ones they leave behind. I want to commend everyone involved in this continuing investigation and hope that these arrests can help bring some small sense of comfort and closure to all those affected by this senseless act."
