One Less Gun: Two Firearms Recovered, Five Suspects Arrested in Two Separate Incidents

Firearm recovered in Incident #1

INCIDENT #1: At about 4:40 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2017, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) recovered a firearm during a motor vehicle stop in the area of 157 Fuller Street. While on patrol in the above area, officers observed a motor vehicle without a front registration plate displayed. Upon querying the vehicle, they found that the car was reported stolen an hour earlier. Officers conducted a stop of the vehicle, and after ordering the operator and three passengers to exit, recovered a black and brown loaded Sterling Mark2 .380 caliber firearm on the floor of the passenger compartment. The occupants of the vehicle, 18-year-old Teshawn Hector-Coleman (Operator), 18-year-old Junior Galette, and two 17-year-old juvenile males, all of Dorchester, were arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle.

INCIDENT #2: At about 9:10 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2017, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a recovered firearm and a shoplifting suspect in custody in the area of 10 Summer Street. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a Special Police Officer at Primark had observed a male concealing merchandise in a bag inside the store. When the male attempted to exit the store without paying, the Special Officer stopped him and took him into custody. During a search of the suspect’s bag, the officer recovered a black Hi-Point C-9 9mm handgun with obliterated serial number and one loaded magazine. The suspect, 21-year-old Isaiah Villarson of Saugus, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number, and Shoplifting under $50.
