Evidence from incident #1

INCIDENT #1: At about 6:20 PM on Monday, March 13, 2017, members of the City Wide Drug Control Unit executed two search warrants in the area of 58 Burrell Street in District B-2 (Roxbury). Officers located the target of the search warrants, 22-year-old Jacob Cardona of Roxbury, and executed both warrants. As a result, officers recovered the following:

  • Eleven plastic bags (9.5 grams) of heroin
  • Eleven plastic bags of marijuana
  • One jar of loose marijuana
  • Approximately $1,402 in US paper currency
  • One loaded Rohm RG38 .38 caliber revolver

Cardona was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A Drugs (Heroin), and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D Drugs (Marijuana).

INCIDENT #2: At about 8:40 PM on Monday, March 13, 2017, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) conducted a traffic stop in the area of Howard Avenue and Wayland Street. While on patrol in the area, officers observed a vehicle traveling at speeds greater than reasonable and proper for the area. Upon further investigation, officers observed that the operator was not licensed to drive. The operator, 22-year-old Paul Tyvon Jacobs of Dorchester, was arrested for Unlicensed Operation. One of his passengers who was known to officers for his involvement in firearm related incidents was pat frisked for officer safety during the traffic stop. As a result of the frisk, officers seized a loaded Iver Johnson Arms 5-shot .32 caliber revolver and one loaded Silver Gecado 22 Short 6-shot revolver from the suspect’s person. Both firearms were carried illegally; therefore, officers arrested 18-year-old Ijahleel Reid of Dorchester and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm.
