One Less Gun: BPD Officers Arrest Known Suspect Carrying Loaded Firearm in South Boston

At about 6:09 PM on Thursday, March 16, 2017, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite firearm arrest in the area of Rogers Street and Devine Way in District C-6 (South Boston). The officers were on routine patrol when they observed, Daquan Peters, 21, Roxbury, who was known to them from previous incidents and approached to speak with him.  As the officers were engaged in conversation they observed that the Peters was behaving in a suspicious manner and appeared to be agitated, which was not his usual demeanor. When the officers were about to perform a frisk, they observed the handle of a firearm sticking out of the waist band area of the suspect’s pants. Officers quickly placed the suspect in custody without incident and secured the firearm which was found to be a loaded .40 caliber Glock 23 handgun with an obliterated serial number. The suspect will appear in South Boston District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number. The suspect was later found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Dorchester District Court for Operating a Motor Vehicle after Suspension or Revocation.
