Keeping Boston Safe: BPD Task Force Seizes Large Quantity of Drugs from Behind Counter of Charlestown Restaurant

At about 1:30 PM on Monday, March 27, 2017, members of the Distict A-1 (Downtown) Neighborhood Drug Control Unit, in collaboration with the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), concluded an extensive drug investigation that culminated in the execution of several search warrants in the area of D’Rafa Restaurant at 156 Bunker Hill Street in Charlestown.

As a result of the search warrants, officers seized the following from the restaurant:

  • One half kilogram of Fentanyl
  • Twenty-nine plastic bags of cocaine/crack cocaine
  • Ten plastic bags of heroin
  • Approximately $7,144 in US currency

Officers arrested 46-year-old Rafael Pimental, 28-year-old Juan Guerrero-Torres, 60-year-old female Matea Sanchez, 23-year-old female Rosselys Pimental-Melo, and 40-year-old female Ada Mejia-Mejia, all of Charlestown, were arrested and charged with Trafficking Class A Drugs (Heroin), Trafficking Class B Drugs (Fentanyl), and Trafficking Class B Drugs (Cocaine).

The Inspectional Services Department responded an immediately shut down operations at the restaurant due to the imminent health hazard.
