Boston Marathon 2017: Commissioner Evans Completes First Boston Marathon Since 2013

Boston Police Commissioner Evans was proud to complete his 19th Boston Marathon and 52nd overall marathon in his running career.  “I hope people see that if I’m able to be out here running, then everyone in the crowd and all the runners on course should feel safe coming out to participate in this great day” said the commissioner.  “None of us will ever forget what happened here four years ago, but I have the utmost faith in my officers and the security measures we have in place.”

As soon as he crossed the finish line, the commissioner checked in with Chief Gross for a briefing and after a quick shower and a change of clothes, he was right back out in the crowd with his officers, ensuring the continued safety of the event.
