Great Work Recognized: BPD Cadet Plays Crucial Role in Arrest of Break-In Suspect

At about noon on Friday, March 24, 2017, two suspects broke into the home of a woman in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. The pregnant woman was home alone and sleeping during the break-in. Jewelry, a laptop, and personal property was stolen, but the suspects were captured on surveillance video. District A-1 (Downtown) detectives responded and a wanted flyer was distributed in an attempt to identify the suspects.

One week later on March 31, Cadet Kamisha Green was assigned to the front desk at District A-1 when the suspect wanted from the break-in entered the station lobby to register as a Level 3 sex offender. Cadet Green immediately recognized the suspect from the wanted flyer and informed the District detectives that the suspect had just entered the station. The suspect was interviewed and identified by the detectives and, after viewing the surveillance video from the incident, gave a full confession to the break-in.

Cadet Kamisha Green is recognized for her keen observations and attention to detail which aided in the arrest of a dangerous felon, and is hereby awarded a Commissioner’s Commendation.
