INCIDENT #1: At about 11:15 PM on Saturday, May 27, 2017, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) made an onsite firearm arrest after performing a traffic stop in the area of Warren Street and Devon Street in Roxbury. The officers had stopped the vehicle for an equipment violation when they learned that the passenger, Alexander Gatlin, 22, of Dorchester, was wanted on an outstanding warrant. After removing the suspect from the vehicle, they recovered a loaded 9mm Ruger P95DC handgun from inside the vehicle from the area where the suspect had been seated. In addition to answering for his warrant, the suspect will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. The operator of the vehicle was issued a citation and released from the scene.
INCIDENT #2: At about 1:45 AM on Sunday May 28, 2017, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) made an onsite firearm arrest after responding to a call for a fight in the area of 51 Stuart Street in Boston. When the officers arrived, they learned that the suspect, later identified as Eric Miller, 45, of Silver Spring, MD, had been observed in possession of a firearm during the disturbance. Officers located the suspect who informed them that he had placed the gun in a nearby vehicle prior to their arrival. Officers were able to locate and recover the weapon which was determined to be a fully loaded 9mm Glock 19 handgun along with an additional large capacity magazine. The suspect was placed in custody without incident after he was unable to produce a valid License to Carry a Firearm. The suspect will appear in Boston Municipal Court on numerous charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
