One Less Gun: Neighborhood Drug Control Units in Brighton and Mattapan Recover Two Firearms in Two Separate Incidents

Yesterday evening, Wednesday, May 31, 2017, during two separate investigations, officers in the District D-14 (Brighton) and District B-3 (Mattapan) Neighborhood Drug Control Units recovered two firearms and made several arrests on firearm related charges.

At about 4:05 PM, members of the Brighton DCU recovered a loaded Smith & Wesson SPL +P Air Weight .38 caliber revolver from the trunk of a motor vehicle. Officers subsequently arrested 29-year-old Hector Fuentes of Boston and 43-year-old Luis Parrilla of Brighton. Fuentes was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Armed Career Criminal. Parrilla was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2nd and Subsequent), and Armed Career Criminal.

At about 7:45 PM, members of the Mattapan DCU recovered a loaded Glock 19 9mm firearm that had been discarded from a vehicle. Officers charged a 21-year-old female with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm relative to the incident.
