One Less Gun: Officers Recover Two Firearms in Four Hours in Two Separate Incidents in Roxbury and Downtown

INCIDENT #1: At about 3:30 PM on Thursday, June 29, 2017, members of the District C-6 (South Boston) Neighborhood Drug Control Unit conducted a traffic stop in the area of Williams Street and Washington Street. As a result of the stop and the ensuing investigation, the officers seized a loaded Ruger .22 caliber handgun, approximately 20 grams of marijuana, and several illegal fireworks. The operator of the vehicle, 21-year-old Gerard Moore of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Unlawful Possession of Fireworks, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D (Marijuana). A passenger in the vehicle was arrested on an outstanding default warrant for Trespassing out of Roxbury District Court.

INCIDENT #2: At about 7:54 PM on Thursday, June 29, 2017, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a call for a person with a gun in the area of 121 Tremont Street. While canvassing the area for the described suspect, officers observed a male behaving suspiciously and exhibiting behaviors of a person who may be armed. Officers circled around to speak with the male, and upon approaching, the male fled from the officers on foot. Officers pursued the male in a lengthy foot chase before finally apprehending him in the area of 200 Berkeley Street. A pat frisk of the male revealed a loaded Ruger LCP 380 firearm with an obliterated serial number in the male’s pants. Officers arrested 22-year-old Eric K. Pass of Dorchester and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated/Altered Serial Number, and Disorderly Conduct.
