At about 8:15 PM on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, officers assigned to District E-18 (Hyde Park) made an onsite firearm arrest after responding to a call for a person being chased by a suspect armed with a firearm in the area American Legion Highway and Mount Hope Street in Roslindale. While on approach, officers were flagged down by the victim who was now standing near Hyde Park Avenue and Destefano Road. The victim stated that he had been chased by the armed suspect, later identified as Noe Ramirez, 38, of Roslindale, after a verbal dispute over an alleged unpaid debt and that the suspect was still in the immediate area. The victim then suddenly pointed across the street where the suspect was observed walking towards the rear of 443 Hyde Park Avenue. Officers ran to the rear of the address with their weapons drawn at which time they located the suspect getting out of a parked motor vehicle and quickly placed him in custody without incident. With permission from the registered owner, BPD K-9 “Jake” performed a search of the vehicle which led to the recovery of a loaded .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver.  The suspect will appear in West Roxbury District Court on charges of Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
