At about 6:45 PM on Thursday, July 6, 2017, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) were on patrol in the area of Grove Hall when they heard what appeared to be the sound of gunshots in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Cheney Street. Officers ran toward the scene and observed two male victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The first victim, a 14-year-old male, was transported to Boston Children's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the second victim, a male approximately 18 to 21 years old, was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
