At about 9:50 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2017, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for a person stabbed in the area of 55 Warrent Street. Upon arrival, the officers observed an 18-year-old male victim suffering from apparent stab wounds. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
In only six hours after the incident, by approximately 4:00 PM that same day, Boston Police Homicide detectives were able to gather evidence, identify, locate, and arrest a 15-year-old male in relation to this blatant daytime murder. The juvenile suspect will be arraigned on Friday, July 7, 2017 in Roxbury District Court.
"I'd like to thank the members of the community who assisted today," said Commissioner William Evans. "Their aid and information was instrumental in making a quick apprehension in this case. My detectives worked diligently on investigating the incident, and I hope that the swift resolution and arrest can bring at least a small amount of solace to the victim's family."
