One Less Gun: YVSF Officers Recover Two Illegal Firearms in Two Separate Investigations
/Yesterday, Friday, August 11, 2017, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force conducted two motor vehicle stops as part of two separate ongoing investigations. As a result of the first stop at approximately 6:10 PM in the area of 382 Norfolk Street, officers recovered a loaded black and army green Smith & Wesson MP9 Shield 9mm firearm with a high capacity feeding device from the person of 22-year-old Herby Paul of Mattapan. Paul was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Resisting Arrest.
As a result of the second stop that took place at about 10:40 PM in the area of 202 Southern Avenue, officers recovered a loaded black Glock 30 .45 caliber firearm with a high capacity feeding device. The operator of the vehicle, identified as 23-year-old Kori A. Kelley of Roxbury, was charged with firearm-related offenses, as well as issued a citation for violations of the auto laws. Kelley will be arraigned on Monday, August 14, 2017 in Dorchester District Court.
