At about 1:25 AM on Thursday, August 24, 2017, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call for shots fired in the area of Leslie and Dix Streets.

While en route, the 911 dispatcher provided officers with a description of one shooting suspect and informed officers that there appeared to be at least two parties shooting at each other. Upon arrival in the area of 6 Leslie Street, officers observed a male fitting that description on the front porch. When officers approached, they observed that the male was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. However, the male was uncooperative with medics and refused treatment, against the EMTs’ advice. Officers canvassed the area for ballistics and located evidence in the area of 65 Dix Street. A ballistic K9 then responded to canvass the area for further ballistics. The K9 was deployed and quickly located a loaded Detonics .45 caliber firearm to the right of the front porch where the male had been located. Officers placed 28-year-old Antoine Johnson of Dorchester under arrest and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and being an Armed Career Criminal (Level I). Johnson will also be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2nd & Subsequent). Once under arrest, Johnson was transported to BMC for further medical treatment.
