One Less Gun: Five Firearms Recovered in Three Separate Incidents in District B-2 (Roxbury)

INCIDENT #1: At about 12:45 PM on Thursday, August 24, 2017, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force executed two search warrants in the area of Fayston Street in District B-2 (Roxbury). As a result of an active and ongoing investigation, officers received search warrants for the person of 34-year-old Weekenson Limas of Dorchester and his residence. Upon execution of these warrants, officers recovered three plastic bags of crack cocaine, two plastic bags of marijuana, 10 loose Clonazepam pills, one loaded Charter Arms .38 revolver, one loaded H&R Inc. Model 949 revolver, and additional ammunition.

Officers arrested Limas and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (2 counts), Unlawful Possession of Ammunition (2 counts), Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Firearm while in Commission of a Felony, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs (2nd & Subsequent), Possession with Intent to Distribute Class C Drugs (Clonazepam).

INCIDENT #2: On Sunday, August 20, 2017, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for a person with a gun in the area of Boston and Howell Streets. Officers were informed that a male had been threatened by a man with a firearm while sitting in his vehicle at a red light. Officers canvassed the area for the suspect and any possible video evidence that may have captured the incident. As a result of the investigation, detectives were able to identify 29-year-old Frank B. Roberto of Dorchester as the suspect in the incident. Detectives applied for and received warrants for Roberto’s arrest and a search of his residence.

At about 9:55 PM on Thursday, August 24, 2017, officers and detectives from District B-2, along with members of the YVSF and SWAT, executed the warrants, arresting Roberto and charging him with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). As a result of the search warrant, officers recovered two firearms, two duffel bags of marijuana, thousands of dollars in cash, packaging materials, scales, a money counting machine, and other items consistent with the illegal sale of narcotics. Officers will seek charges relative to the possession of the above contraband. This investigation remains active and ongoing. 

INCIDENT #3: At about 2:35 AM on Friday, August 25, 2017, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) attempted to conduct a stop of a motor vehicle for violations of the auto laws in the area of Normandy and Stanwood Streets, Dorchester. When the vehicle stopped, the operator immediately fled the scene on foot while holding his waistband. Officers gave chase through several backyards. During the pursuit, they observed a loaded magazine fall from the operator’s waist. Once officers had apprehended the operator, they recovered the magazine and had a K-9 canvas the operator’s flightpath for additional contraband. As a result, the K-9 located an unloaded firearm with no magazine. Officers arrested 31-year-old Calvin Horne of Dorchester and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm. Horne was also cited for several violations of the auto laws.
