One Less Gun: Two Separate Incidents Lead to the Recovery of Two Illegal Firearms

INCIDENT #1: At about 12:30 PM on Monday, August 7, 2017, officers from District C-6 (South Boston) recovered a loaded Colt .45 caliber firearm as a result of an ongoing investigation in the area of Crowley Rogers Way.

INCIDENT #2: At about 10:40 PM on Monday, August 7, 2017, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) attempted to stop two motorcycles speeding in the area of 742 Dudley Street. As officers activated their blue lights and sirens, the operator of the orange Kawasaki dumped his bike and ran before the officers could exit their cruiser. As the suspect ran, the officers observed him drop an item. The operator of the second motorcycle then drove his bike onto the sidewalk, allowing the first suspect to jump on the back of his motorcycle, and both fled on the second motorcycle towards Columbia Road. Both suspects made good their escape, however, officers observed that the discarded item was a loaded Smith & Wesson SW9VE 9mm firearm. Detectives responded to process the scene, and the incident remains under investigation.
