Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Make Speedy Arrest after Robbery on Common

At about 9:00 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) were on patrol in the area of 75 Boylston Street on the Boston Common, when they observed a group of about five males notice their marked police cruiser and then walk nervously in the opposite direction toward Tremont and West Streets. Officers continued to monitor the males when they were approached by a victim who reported he was just robbed by four or five assailants. The victim stated the suspects assaulted him then stole his money, phone, and his Red Sox snap back hat. Additional officers were able to stop the group of males, who fit the suspects’ descriptions, in the area of Washington Street and West Street. Four males were identified as the suspects, and the victim’s property was located in the backpack of one of the suspects, a 15-year-old juvenile male from Mattapan. The 15-year-old juvenile, 20-year-old Nebuchodonoz Salomon of Boston, 19-year-old Jameslee Cayemite of Weymouth, and 25-year-old Renaldo Joseph of Mattapan were arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery and Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Shod Foot).
