One of the officers performed a pat frisk of the juvenile suspect at which time he immediately felt the handle of a gun sticking out of the waistband of the suspect’s pants. Officers placed the suspect in custody without incident and safely recovered a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P Shield. Officers later observed that the serial number on the firearm had been removed.
